2011 Canadian Young Lions Competition
Our 2011 Young Lions competition has yet again received a great response--165 teams participated this year. The winning teams in each category win a trip to Cannes where they will represent Canada in the official Cannes Lions Young Lions competition held during the festival.
Congratulations to everyone who participated. The quality of the entries was stellar and the judges had a difficult time picking this year's winners. For that reason, we are again recognizing the top three in each category. Although only the Gold Winners receive the coveted trip to Cannes, we feel it's important to recognize our top Canadian talent.
The Client

The Stephen Lewis Foundation (SLF) supports grassroots organizations working to turn the tide of HIV/AIDS in Africa. Since 2003, the SLF has funded more than 300 projects in 15 countries.
The philosophy of the SLF is firmly rooted in the value of working with African efforts, with an understanding that if anyone can turn the tide of AIDS in Africa at the community level, it will be the experts found in the communities themselves.
HIV/AIDS in Africa: A woman's pandemic
African grandmothers are recognized as community experts and agents of change by governments and international aid agencies. In the face of poverty, hunger and grief, they almost single-handedly care for millions of children orphaned by AIDS, sometimes as many as ten to fifteen in one household. In this context, young women are the most vulnerable of all. They are often the first to be pulled out of school to help care for dying parents and orphaned siblings and can easily fall prey to sexual exploitation. The SLF funds organizations that support girls and young women, ensuring they have an equal chance to attend school, learn how to protect themselves from the virus, get skills training and flourish, particularly when they are looking after their siblings in child-headed households. They are the generation that will lead Africa out of the AIDS pandemic.
The Challenge
To solicit donations and support from Canadian women (25 - 45 years) by communicating the SLF's community/grassroots approach to ending HIV/AIDS in Africa. The Objective
Primary: Reach Canadian women (25 - 45 years) and encourage them to donate to the SLF. Secondary: Create a database of contact information of Canadian women who do not feel they can donate at this time, so that they can be kept informed of the SLF's activities and encouraged to donate in the future.
