Young Lions
The Globe and Mail's Young Lions competition is open to advertising creatives, media planners/buyers. To enter you must meet all of the following qualifications. You must be:
  • 28 years or under, (born on or after June 24, 1983)
  • A Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident of Canada
  • Be in possession of a valid passport
  • Over the age of majority in your province/territory of residence
  • A high school graduate or equivalent
  • Have gained work experience in the advertising/communications industries

Young Marketers
The Globe and Mail's Young Marketers competition is open to marketing creatives, currently employed with a client organization. To enter you must meet all of the following qualifications. You must be:
  • 30 years or under, (born on or after June 24, 1981)
  • Currently employed with a client organization in a marketing capacity
  • A Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident of Canada
  • Be in possession of a valid passport
  • Over the age of majority in your province/territory of residence
  • A high school graduate or equivalent
Both Young Lions and Young Marketers require a good level of both written and spoken English, as all entries presented to the judges are in English, which mirrors the Cannes competition experience.

Young Lions and Young Marketers need to upload the following items with their submission form:
  • A copy of your valid passport
  • Valid government photo I.D. that confirms your date of birth
  • Proof of Canadian citizenship or Permanent Resident status
Please note that we are unable to accept provincial health cards as forms of I.D.

The deadline for registering in both competitions is Sunday, March 4, 2012 at midnight, ET.

Please note the following entry file requirements:
  • Print submissions must be .PDF files that are no larger than 10 MB.
  • Cyber submissions must be .ZIP files that are no larger than 10 MB.
  • Media submissions must be .PDF files that are no larger than 25 MB.
  • Film submissions must be .MOV or WMV files that are no larger than 25 MB.
You will be emailed a link to the competition brief, which includes instructions, according to the schedule on the Young Lions Competition Overview page and on the Young Marketers Competition Overview page.

Important: You will receive a confirmation number once your registration has been processed. You will need to provide this confirmation number to access the online brief and to submit your entry. If you do not receive an email with your confirmation number shortly after registering, please contact Tanya Essarie, the Competition Administrator.

To complete your registration you must visit the EventBrite Web site to make and process your $50 entry fee. Please note that each entrant pays the $50 entry fee as part of their successful registration. Upon payment EventBrite will send you an e-mail including an 18-digit Receipt Order Number.
