HOW MANY ADS ARE TOO MANY? On websites, we can handle only so much, according to Massachusetts-based Burst Media.In a survey of more than 4,000 Web surfers, 75 per cent said they pay less attention to ads appearing on a page they perceive to be cluttered.
What is cluttered? For about half of the surfers, it's more than two ads per page.

Some excerpts:

Despite the downturn, Canadian advertisers haven't turned off the spending spigot.
Or so says Media in Canada, who report on a new study by Pollara Strategic Insights.
In it, MiC writes, "78% of marketers say senior management supports greater investment in social media--a shift, the report says, that may be due in part to 'an increasing understanding of social media among business leaders in Canada.'"
