A Tech Upgrade for Globeandmail.com
You may have noticed some recent changes at Globeandmail.com. For one, our interface is sleeker, cleaner and more intuitive to use. And that's just the beginning. The Globe and Mail is rolling out a new tech upgrade for all its online properties, starting with our recently launched Globe Investor site.

We've migrated all of our content onto a new platform, one that allows us to present it in greater depth, and encourage timelier and more relevant interactions through the use of "stickier," community-building features.
Pages have been redesigned to let readers more easily access articles along with related stories, images and videos. Readers can also "vote up" user comments so that the most valuable or relevant ones are presented closest to actual content.
While all Globe and Mail online properties have benefitted from this move to a new platform, the changes we've made to Globe Investor represent only the first phase of a complete overhaul that will take place over the next year.
We'll continue to update Globeandmail.com section by section, all the while keeping an eye on user and advertiser feedback so that we can adapt content and functionality to best suit their needs.
Improved Formats for Advertisers
One immediate benefit for advertisers is that the standard Globeandmail.com page size is now wider. This means we can accommodate a greater variety of ad formats (and also coincides the growing use of wider monitors on the part of Canadian consumers). For instance, leaderboards can still be purchased in traditional sizes 768 X 90 pixels, but can also be as wide as 960 X 90. We've also switched to stabler, more robust media player that can support all the latest formats for online video and Flash movies.
As we move through the process, we will continue to make changes to formats in order to enhance opportunities for advertisers. If you have any questions, contact your sales representative, or review GlobeLink's digital ad formats page, which we'll update with new options as they become available.
