The Globe engages our readers longer in print and online

The latest PMB Spring 2010 results show The Globe continues to attract strong readership to its print and digital platforms. Our combined net reach is close to 4 million influential Canadians each month.

    Reader engagement: Globe leads in time spent with our newspaper
    Globe readers are your best bet when it comes to captivating an audience. They spend more time with our newspaper than readers of other newspapers, according to PMB Spring 2010. Greater time spent reading means more opportunity for readers to see your ads.

      
     
    On average, readers spend 42 minutes with the weekday paper and 64 minutes with the Saturday edition. That's more time with the newspaper than the readers of all other PMB measured newspapers*.

    The Globe's online readers are also staying longer
    Similar findings on time spent are echoed with our online products through comScore. In fact, a three month average, based on Q1 2010, revealed that Globe website readers spent close to 80 million minutes online on our sites monthly, compared to our next nearest individual newspaper site competitor (Toronto Star) where readers engaged during the same period for just 53 million minutes. Compared to the National Post site, readers spent 11 million minutes -- just a fraction of 80 million minutes readers devoted to The Globe*.

    Readers are compelled to spend more time on Globe websites because our content engages them. This, of course, bodes well for advertisers who choose to be a part of our online environments.
