For Video Pre-Roll ads we require max 2.1 MB files, of 30 seconds or less.
Video player is 576px by 324px, 16:9 or 4:3 aspect ratio (16:9 is preferable)
Videos should be in a final edited format.
Perferred bit rate: 500 kb/s.
No third party serving of this unit.
Note: Most instances currently offer a 300X250 companion ad to videos,
but must not interfere with player function.

Sending Enhanced Creative
Provide all .gif files, HTML code and 1 .swf file - if applicable - in individual zip files - one for each banner to run.
Attach all associated files to an e-mail and send to traffic@globeandmail.com AND your Sales Representative.
Note: Gif files must have a naming convention that corresponds independently to each HTML file. i.e., HTML files cannot share a .gif file of the same name. Please try to use file names and associated .gif files that are similar.

Production Specifications
- An HTML email should be a combination of text and images with a call-to-action within the text component.
- Dimensions: Maximum 600 pixels wide
HTML table-based layout (tables must be created at time of coding). - Use of Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) external or internal is NOT allowed.
- Advertiser must provide create (text, standard GIF or JPEG only, file size is maximum 100k including all images and HTML files).
- HTML files can contain only text, JPG and GIF images.
Flash, Rich Media, and JaveScript are not available in email products. - All stylistic attributes must be defined using standard HTML.
Full image paths in the code must be used (ex: http//www.domain.com/images/graphics.jpg) or all images must be provided for hosting on our own servers. - If required, specified names can be applied to each link for reporting purposes.
- Creative must be delivered 5 days prior to first draft in order to secure deployment on booking date.
- All Advertiser Exclusives will be proofed to a seed list and/or sent as a system deployed email attachment. Please provide a list of emails and we will deploy proofs accordingly.
- An email consisting entirely of a linked image is NOT recommended, as today's email platforms block images.
- Subject lines should be provided by advertisers and as enticing as possible.
- There MUST be a call to action above the first 400 pixes (height) of the email.
- Text for subject line must be provided and can not exceed 60 characters (We reserve the right to modify subject line text).
Advertiser subject line will be followed by "A globeandmail.com advertiser exclusive". - Any links to PDF, Word documents or other non-traditional "web page" links within an email MUST be clearly identified.
General Online Advertising Notes:
- All third party served ads must be tested prior to running on globeandmail.com sites
- All rich media or third party advertising on globeandmail.com sites is subject to a minimum of 5 business days testing.
- All Flash creative must be set up with an appropriate clickTAG for tracking purposes.
